The world's richest gathering of Coptic Christian art, cradled within the walls of Babylon.
Founded in 1908 by the Coptic notable Marcus Simaika, the museum holds the largest collection of Coptic artifacts anywhere, from textiles and icons to the celebrated Nag Hammadi codices. Its mashrabiya woodwork and carved ceilings, salvaged from old Cairo houses, make the building itself a work of art.
