A jewel of a reception pavilion at the Nile's edge, beside the ancient Nilometer.
Built in 1851 by Hassan Fuad al-Manasterly Pasha on the southern tip of Rhoda Island, this ornate rococo palace is all that survives of a larger residence. Set beside the medieval Nilometer, its gilded reception halls now serve as a cultural center and a celebrated venue for classical music overlooking the river.
