Antikkhana Street

The name comes from the Antikkhana, the Turkish-derived word for the antiquities house that preceded the Egyptian Museum.

Egypt's antiquities were displayed in Boulaq and later Giza before the Tahrir museum opened in 1902. The street name preserves that older term.
