El-Orouba Street

Named El-Orouba, 'Arabism', the term for the pan-Arab unity ideal central to Nasser-era politics.

As the airport approach, El-Orouba is the road foreign dignitaries first travel into the capital. Its name broadcasts the pan-Arab identity Egypt championed in the mid-20th century.
