Emad El-Din Street

The street carries the name Emad El-Din, and became famous as the spine of early-20th-century Egyptian theatre.

In the 1920s and 1930s its theatres and cabarets hosted stars like Naguib El-Rihani and Youssef Wahbi. It was once nicknamed the Broadway of Cairo.
