Giza Square

Named for Giza itself, the ancient west-bank city whose name may derive from an Arabic word for 'the edge' or 'valley side'.

Giza gives its name to the governorate, the plateau and the Pyramids. The square is the pivot where Pyramids Road, the Nile corniche and the university axis meet.
