Taha Hussein Street

The street is named for Taha Hussein, the blind writer and thinker hailed as the Dean of Arabic Literature.

Hussein was a towering modernist author, critic and education reformer whose memoir Al-Ayyam became a classic. Zamalek's naming reflects his enduring cultural stature.
