Soliman Pasha Street (old name)

The street's old name honoured Soliman Pasha al-Faransawi, the French officer Joseph Sève who modernised Egypt's army.

Sève converted to Islam and drilled Muhammad Ali's new army. The street and its statue were renamed for economist Talaat Harb after 1952.
